There's still time to grab a one-minute slot!

Got a local charity, group or organisation you'd love to tell people about? Here's your chance!

Join us at our sister site, Berries Community Café next Wednesday for Bude Together, a friendly, informal networking event bringing our brilliant local community together to connect, share ideas and discover what's happening across Bude.

🎤 A few one-minute speaking slots are still available, so why not take the opportunity to introduce your organisation, spread the word about what you do and connect with others in the community?

Not looking to speak? No problem! Come along, meet people, discover local groups and organisations, and find out what's happening right here on your doorstep.

Bude Pain Café is turning TWO!

The next Pain Café takes place tomorrow, Thursday 8th October, and is celebrating two wonderful years of bringing people together to chat, connect and find support around living with persistent pain.

Facilitated by the lovely Sandra Dumas wellness, Pain Café is a relaxed, friendly and informal space for anyone living with ongoing pain, as well as those supporting someone who is.

Sessions can include:
• Chat and discussion around different pain-related topics
• Advice and insights from local experts
• Gentle techniques and ideas to help with everyday life

Next session:
📅 Thursday 8th October
🕙 10am–12pm
📍 Neetside Community Centre

Sessions run on the 2nd Thursday of the month, same time, same place, and are free to attend, with no booking needed. Tea, coffee and cake are kindly provided by Berries Community Cafe (and this month, it's birthday cake!).

The next Pain Café takes place on Thursday 8th October, and is celebrating two wonderful years of bringing people together to chat, connect and find support around living with persistent pain.

We’re inviting local charities, community groups and organisations to apply for a 5-minute slot to speak at our next Bude Together event on Wednesday 21st October, 6–7pm at Berries Community Café (EX23 8QE).

If you’d like to introduce your organisation, tell people what you do and make some useful local connections, apply for your 5-minute slot by 5pm on 8th October.

Join us at our sister-site, Berries Community Café this Friday, 2nd October, 10.30am–1.30pm, for a free event all about supporting you to live well for longer.

☕ Free tea and cake! 🍰

Drop in throughout the day to:
• Find out more about domiciliary care
• Browse catalogues and see example equipment from Medequip to help you live safely and independently at home for longer
• Meet and chat with your local social prescriber
• Pick up useful information, advice and resources

There will also be a programme of short talks and taster sessions:

🕐 Time TBC – Healthy Habits for the Whole Year with Rowena, Diabetes Care Coordinator at Coast & Country Primary Care Network

🧠 10.45–11.30am – How to Prevent Dementia
Looking at diet, nutrition and lifestyle, based on the latest research, with nutritional therapist Irena Jordi-Slater from Ethos Nutrition

🧘 11.45am–12.15pm – Introduction to Chair Yoga, Exercises and Breathwork
With Alison Howard-Jones, Qualified Holistic Therapist, Registered General Nurse and ITEC-certified practitioner

💪 1–1.15pm – Keep Mobile: Exercises for Health & Wellbeing
A gentle mobility exercise taster, which can be done standing or seated.

The Neetside Knitters are looking to welcome a few new members to their friendly group! 💕

So, if you enjoy knitting or crochet and fancy spending a couple of hours with some lovely, like-minded people, why not come along?

🗓️ 2nd & 4th Monday of every month
🕝 2pm–4pm
📍 Neetside Community Centre
💷 Just £1 to attend

The group is a lovely opportunity to enjoy a cuppa and a chat while doing something you love. And you can make anything you like! Garments, blankets, teddies… whatever takes your fancy.

The Neetside Knitters also do lots of wonderful work for charity. Members have made:

🧶 Trauma teddies
🧶 Hats for a breast cancer fundraising swim
🧶 Hats for new-born babies
🧶 Crochet squares for various charities, including a veterans’ charity
🧶 Blankets for animal charities
🧶 Little nests for the RSPCA

The £1 subs each session include tea and biscuits, and also help cover the postage costs when their charity makes are sent off to the people and organisations they’ve been made for.

And if you have any spare wool or yarn you’d like to donate, the group would be very grateful!

SHE Matters stands for Support. Health. Empowerment. Matters. and is a space for women to come together, connect, chat and support one another.

Whether you’re looking to meet new people, make connections, have a cuppa and a chat, or simply spend some time in a welcoming space with other women, you’ll be very welcome.

The Annual Berries Community Café Sausage Sizzle is back for 2026, and everyone’s invited! 🎉

Come along and help us celebrate the end of summer, say a huge thank you to our amazing volunteers, and bring the Bude community together for a lovely evening.

There’ll be delicious BBQ food, freshly made salads from the Café kitchen, plenty to keep the kids happy, PLUS live music from Malachite-Live Original North Devon Band who will be bringing original reggae and jazzy ballads to the proceedings!
