Arsenic Adventures!

Another fantastic day of walking and exploring the relics of our Cornish industrial heritage at the end of the Tamar Discovery Trail - mining at Okel Tor in Calstock.

Arsenic is incredibly poisonous but back in the day when it was mined between 1849-1887 the only protection the miners had as they scrapped it from the flues were handkerchiefs and cotton wool stuffed up their nostrils! Clay would be smeared on their hands to try and form a protective barrier! Not much health and safety going on there!

Hee Haw!

What a brilliant day our client had at The Donkey Haven Charity learning all about the rescued donkeys and feeding them too. The volunteers gave brilliant insight into the history of the charity and information all about the rescued donkeys.
