The Pat Armstrong Allotment Award was introduced by Burbage Parish Council in 2019 in memory of former Project Officer Pat Armstrong, who oversaw the Council’s allotments.
The award celebrates the hard work, enthusiasm and pride of our allotment holders, recognising the general appearance and tidiness of each plot, as well as the effort being made and the potential for a great crop of home-grown produce.
Judging takes place three times throughout the year and today saw the completion of our second round of judging. It was wonderful to see the variety of plots and the tremendous effort being put in by allotment holders across the sites.
Well done to everyone involved and keep up the great work!

🚨 Crime Reduction Event - Burbage Residents 🚨
As we head towards the darker evenings, now is the perfect time to think about protecting your home and vehicle.
📍 Millennium Hall, Burbage Parish Council, LE10 2HF
📅 Sunday 6 September
🕛 12:00pm - 4:00pm
The Burbage Beat Team will be on hand with a range of practical crime prevention products available to purchase at cost price, including:
✅ Window alarms
✅ Light timers
✅ Fence cactus spikes
✅ PIR movement alarms
✅ RFID-blocking wallets
These simple, affordable items can make a real difference in deterring criminals and improving your security.
Unfortunately, during the autumn and winter months, burglary and vehicle crime can increase. In previous years, areas including the Three Pots and Flowers Estate experienced a rise in residential burglaries, with offenders targeting items such as cash and jewellery. Events like this form part of our ongoing work to help prevent crime and keep our communities safe.
Whether you have concerns about your home security, vehicle security, an upcoming holiday, or time away over the Christmas period, please come along for a chat and some friendly advice.
👮 Everyone is welcome.
💬 No appointment needed, just drop in and speak to your local Beat Team.
Please share this post with friends, family and neighbours to help spread the word.
