Greater Cambridge Partnership Growing and sharing prosperity in Greater Cambridge with improvements to transport, housing, skills.

With funding worth £500 million over 15 years, the GCP is implementing vital improvements in infrastructure, supporting and accelerating the creation of 44,000 new jobs, 33,500 new homes and 420 additional apprenticeships. The partnership of councils, business and academia will work together, and with partners and local communities, to grow and share prosperity and improve quality of life for the people of Greater Cambridge, now and in the future. The four partners are: Cambridge City Council, Cambridgeshire County Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council and the University of Cambridge. It is the largest of several City Deal programmes taking place in the UK and brings key partners together to work with communities, businesses and industry leaders to support the continued growth of one of the world’s leading tourism and business destinations.

🚧👷‍♀️ Work is underway to deliver 's new railway station

Today we marked the start of construction of the new station for Waterbeach – an important milestone for the future of the community.

The new station includes a footbridge with lifts, 100 cycle parking spaces and electric vehicle charging points, while connecting with wider walking, cycling and bus infrastructure in the area.

This project is a key part of a broader package of transport improvements being delivered in Waterbeach, including the new travel hub, busway and Waterbeach Greenway.

Together, these schemes will create a sustainable transport network to support residents and businesses.
