⚠️ Storms Austen & Boelo – opening update. Event postponed ⚠️

Storms Austen and Boelo are bringing strong winds and stormy weather. Given the nature of our site and event decorations, we need to close during high winds to keep our volunteers and visitors safe.

Having reviewed the weather forecast, we will be taking the following action:

• Saturday 24th October – The museum will be closed and our HALLOWEEN event will be POSTPONED to Saturday 31st October

• Sunday 25th October – The museum will be closed.

• Saturday 31st October – The museum will be open. HALLOWEEN event will take place TODAY instead of 24th October.

• Sunday 1st November – The museum will be closed until Easter

All online tickets already purchased for 24th October will be valid for 31st October (look out for an email from TicketSource) If you wish to cancel please contact the museum ASAP. You will receive a refund of the face value of the tickets but not the booking fee.

Please check our social media for updates before travelling.

We’re sorry for the disappointment and any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your understanding, and please stay safe.

Here are the two winning bees from our August children's activities days. All the bees that were made were brilliant and it made judging them very difficult! The winning bees are shown here in close-up and with the prize the maker has won. The makers of these two bees can come to the museum on a Saturday or Sunday to collect their prizes.
All the bees that were made will go on permanent display in our education room.
