CLA - Children Looked After: This is the official term used for children who are in foster care

This was previously known as Looked After Child or LAC. The change was made in an attempt always to put the child first and to remember that, first and foremost, they are a child who happens to be looked after

Half Term is here!

Looking for ways to keep children and young people entertained this week? Here are a few local ideas to get you started 👇

🌊 Explore Barry Island, the Gower, or a local beach
🌳 Visit Bute Park, Margam Park, or Pembrey Country Park
🎳 Plan a bowling, cinema, or trampoline park trip
⚽ Head outdoors for bike rides, football, or skate parks

Care leaver - A person who has previously been in the care system

Most often, care leavers are young people who have been in the care system under the age of 18. In some cases, these young people will move on to their own lives or independent living when they turn 18, but sometimes families will continue to support the young person as they would their own children and regularly keep in touch
