It’s Volunteers Week!

Julie is transcribing the dairy of Henry Swinburne who married into the Jones family of Fonmon Castle. The diary records his travels to France in 1762, aged 19, and also includes illustrations, lists and poetry – all in tiny handwriting! Once finished Julie’s transcriptions will be attached to the catalogue entry for the diary.

We are very lucky to have such a dedicated team of volunteers, helping to promote and improve the accessibility of our collections. The indexes and transcriptions they have compiled are available on our website and do take a look at our blog which features many posts written by them. Again, thank you to you all.

Mae Julie yn trawsgrifio dyddiadur Henry Swinburne, a briododd i mewn i’r teulu Jones o Gastell Ffwl-y-mwn. Mae’r dyddiadur yn cofnodi ei daith i Ffrainc ym 1762, yn 19 oed, ac yn cynnwys darluniau, rhestri a barddoniaeth - yr oll mewn llawysgrifen bitw fach! Unwaith maent yn barod bydd trawsgrifiadau Julie yn cael eu hatodi i’r cofnod catalog ar gyfer y dyddiadur.

Rydym yn lwcus iawn i gael tîm ymroddgar o wirfoddolwyr, sy’n helpu hybu a gwella mynediad i’n casgliadau. Mae’r mynegeion a’r trawsgrifiadau maent yn eu creu ar gael ar ein gwefan, a chymerwch gip ar ein blog sy’n llawn o erthyglau a ysgrifennwyd ganddynt. Unwaith eto, diolch i chi oll.
