Yesterday, C*C’s Exec Team had the exciting opportunity to tour the Senedd. During our visit, we explored the Siambr (debating chamber), learned about the new constituencies for 2026, and gained valuable insight into how decisions are made in Wales.
We even got to catch up with C*C’s former chair, Fahadi, who is now working at the Senedd. It was an incredible full-circle moment that highlighted how C*C helped him build the skills, passion, and confidence to pursue his goals and make an impact.
A huge thank you to everyone who made the visit possible, and to Richard for being an excellent guide. We hope to visit again soon!

At our March General Meeting, C*C had the pleasure of hosting for an incredible creative workshop! The day was all about discovering creative expression through music production, poetry writing, and photography.
With a strong focus on uplifting young people, Poetrees encourages using creativity as a positive outlet and a powerful form of self-expression. Led by poet, musician and aerospace engineer Rochay, the team shared their own experiences to show how channeling emotions into art can be a positive alternative to negative influences like crime.
At the end of the meeting, each sub-groups came together to collaborate on a rap, blending poetry and music into one impactful piece.
Thank you to Rochay and the Poetrees team for their creativity, passion and commitment. The workshop was an incredibly insightful and fun experience where we were able to develop new skills, and was thoroughly enjoyed b all.
We hope to collaborate again soon!

Happy International Women’s Day 🩷🌍
Today, we celebrate the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women and girls around the world. It’s a day to recognise how far we’ve come in the fight for gender equality, and to acknowledge how much more work still needs to be done.
Gender inequality continues to affect women and girls everywhere, from access to education and leadership opportunities to safety, healthcare, and the right to be heard. As a youth council, we believe young people play a crucial role in challenging these inequalities and pushing for real change.
Over the years, we’ve worked on projects that address gender equality in our community, including legislative theatre to explore gender issues through storytelling and activism. As part of a UNICEF Child-Friendly City, we also advocate for children’s rights, ensuring that young girls and gender-diverse youth have a voice in shaping decisions that impact them.
This International Women’s Day, let’s celebrate progress, uplift the voices of women and girls, and commit to building a future where everyone, regardless of gender, has the opportunity to thrive!

Last Wednesday, we held our December General Meeting, and it was a fantastic way to end up the year. The Christmas-themed evening was filled with fun activities, including karaoke, quizzes, games, and, of course, pizza! Congratulations to Team Omicron for winning the Christmas quiz, and a special thank you to our Chair and Vice Chair for putting the quiz together.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all C*C members for their dedication and hard work throughout the year. Your efforts have been instrumental in helping us work toward creating a more child-friendly city.
Wishing everyone a safe and restful holiday season. We look forward to seeing you in January for another exciting year of making an impact!

This ’sDay, we’re celebrating the amazing progress in honouring children’s rights.
From becoming the UK’s first UNICEF Child Friendly City to working to ensure education centres have joined UNICEF’s Rights Respecting Schools Award programme, Cardiff is leading the way in creating a safe, inclusive and empowering environment for children and young people. C*C is proud to have played a key role in these developments, ensuring children’s voices are shaping decisions, and making a real impact.
We look forward to continuing to our mission to empower youth to ensure Cardiff is a safe place to live, work and play!

Here’s what we got up to in this months’s General Meeting…
First, we had a presentation from Neurodivergent Friendly Cardiff, who talked about their mission to develop an environment where neurodivergence is celebrated, supported, and included. We enjoyed brainstorming ideas for a new website, and learning about recent developments which will be introduced city-wide in the next few weeks.
In light of the ongoing Welsh Youth Parliament elections, we heard speeches from all the C*C candidates standing. Check out for details on how to register to vote, and remember to vote before Monday, November 25!
Finally, we held our issue based workshops and we began to explore how to address and work on the problems we have identified.
Thank you to everyone who attended this month’s meeting, and to all members who continue to campaign to make Cardiff a better place to live, work, and play! See you at our next General Meeting on Wednesday, December 11!
