A glorious afternoon in Bute Park yesterday. Cycled up as far as Cardiff Rowing Club via Llandaff Cathedral, then back past Cardiff Riding School, Pedal Power and the WaterBus stop to see all the magnolias in full bloom in front of Cardiff Castle.

We are so lucky to have this park with the River Taff bringing a little wildness right into the heart of the city.

You can spend a lovely day browsing through the flowers and gardens on display. I may go on Sunday to snap up some bargains at the end of the show that might do well in our garden.

Lovely to host Annie from London and her father Dick last night. They loved Arbennig restaurant which is just around the corner- ‘real food’ with a great veggie option. They are walking the southern stretch of the Cambrian Way from Cardiff to Crickhowell, taking in some of the most scenic parts of Wales- the Black Mountains. We hope to see them again for a longer stay in the future.

Our new layout of full traditional double bed in the second room to complement the king size bed in the main bedroom is proving popular with guests. This allows two couples to sleep comfortably and share the facilities- providing they are part of the same party.
