Diwrnod Shwmae Su'mae Hapus!

Mae sgwrs yn gallu dechrau gyda dim ond un gair.

Heddiw, beth am ddechrau pob sgwrs gyda"Shwmae?" neu "Su'mae?" P'un a ydych yn siarad Cymraeg bob dydd, yn dysgu, neu ddim ond eisiau rhoi cynnig ar ychydig eiriau.

Mae pob "Shwmae" yn gwneud gwahaniaeth.

A conversation can start with just one word.

Today, why not begin every conversation with “Shwmae?” or “Su'mae?” Whether you speak Welsh every day, are learning the language, or simply want to give a few words a try.

Every “Shwmae” makes a difference.

Edrych yn ôl ar Gynhadledd Strategaethau Hybu'r Gymraeg.

Roedd y diwrnod yn gyfle i glywed am brofiadau, heriau a syniadau ymarferol o bob rhan o Gymru, gan archwilio sut y gall strategaethau hybu wneud gwahaniaeth gwirioneddol i ddefnydd y Gymraeg yn ein cymunedau.

Dyma gipolwg ar y trafodaethau a'r gweithgareddau o'r diwrnod.

Looking back at the Welsh Language Promotion Strategies Conference.

The event provided an opportunity to hear about experiences, challenges and practical ideas from across Wales, while exploring how promotion strategies can make a real difference to the use of Welsh in our communities.

Diolch i bawb a fu'n rhan o gynhadledd strategaethau hybu'r Gymraeg.

Daeth cynrychiolwyr o bob rhan o Gymru ynghyd i drafod sut y gallwn gryfhau rôl strategaethau hybu wrth gynyddu'r defnydd o'r Gymraeg yn ein cymunedau. Pwysleisiodd y trafodaethau werth cydweithio a chynllunio ieithyddol lleol fel ffordd o greu mwy o gyfleoedd i bobl ddefnyddio'r Gymraeg yn eu bywydau bob dydd.

Dyma rai o uchafbwyntiau'r diwrnod.

Representatives from across Wales came together to discuss how we can strengthen the role of promotion strategies in increasing the use of Welsh within our communities. The discussions highlighted the value of collaboration and local language planning as a means of creating more opportunities for people to use Welsh in their everyday lives.

Mae ymchwiliad gan Gomisiynydd y Gymraeg wedi canfod methiant gan Gyngor Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr i gydymffurfio â safonau’r Gymraeg wrth ymgynghori ar bolisi cludiant ysgol.
Roedd Cyngor Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr wedi asesu effaith newidiadau posibl i’w bolisi cludiant ysgol ar y Gymraeg, ond ni rannwyd yr asesiad hwnnw gyda’r cyhoedd fel rhan o’r ymgynghoriad.

An investigation by the Welsh Language Commissioner has found that Bridgend County Borough Council failed to comply with the Welsh language standards when consulting on its school transport policy.
The Council had assessed the potential impact of proposed changes to its school transport policy on the Welsh language, but that assessment was not shared with the public as part of the consultation process.

Mae darlledu yn chwarae rhan hollbwysig wrth sicrhau bod ieithoedd fel y Gymraeg a'r Wyddeleg yn cael eu clywed, eu defnyddio a'u gweld mewn bywyd bob dydd. The Welsh Language Commissioner and the Irish Language Commissioner for Northern Ireland have raised concerns about the impact of recent BBC cuts on minority language services.
Broadcasting plays a vital role in ensuring languages such as Welsh and Irish are heard, used and seen in everyday life. This is about far more than entertainment or value for money. It is about protecting and promoting languages, cultures and identities for future generations.
