MESSAGE FROM LANCASHIRE POLICE...Two Arrested And Three Stolen Vehicles Recovered
Dear residents

My colleagues in the Urban Task Force stopped a suspicious van on the back roads near Slyne in the evening of Friday 26th September. Within this van was two males from the Bradford area and in the rear of the van was a quad bike and two motorcycles. These vehicles have now been identified as being recently stolen from villages north of Carnforth. The owners have been informed. The two males from Bradford have been arrested and are currently in custody awaiting an interview.

If you see any suspicious people or vehicles around your property or villages, please report it to 999 at the time and we can try to prevent further burglaries and thefts in the area.

Thank you for your continued support.

SILVERDALE PARKING - MESSAGE FROM BLEASDALE SCHOOL…
Silverdale Lodge Offers Practical Support to Bleasdale School and The Village
Bleasdale School would like to express its sincere gratitude to the members of Silverdale Lodge No. 6926 for their generous support of the school and the wider community. As the school works towards the further development of its own parking facilities, Silverdale Lodge has kindly offered the use of its car park for school staff and volunteers during school opening days. This arrangement has been made entirely free of charge and will remain in place until the school's planned parking provision becomes operational.
The offer represents a wonderful example of community partnership in action and a great generosity of the Silverdale Masons. Local organisations often play a vital role in supporting schools, and this practical gesture demonstrates how cooperation and goodwill can benefit everyone within our village community. The principles of friendship, charity, integrity and service are values long associated with Freemasonry, and the members of Silverdale Lodge have embodied these values through their thoughtful and generous support. Their willingness to assist the school during this period is greatly appreciated by staff, families and governors alike.
Bleasdale School is proud to be part of a village where local organisations continue to work together for the good of the community. Acts of kindness such as these help strengthen relationships between generations and remind us all of the importance of supporting one another. We would like to place on record our heartfelt thanks to the members of Silverdale Lodge No. 6926 for providing this facility at no cost to the school and for their ongoing commitment to serving the local community. Community spirit is often measured not by grand gestures, but by practical acts of kindness. This is one such example, and we are extremely grateful for it.

COLD CALLERS IN SILVERDALE
Lancashire Police have sent this message today...

Just a quick message to make you aware that police have recently received a number of reports of people going door to door (cold calling) in the Silverdale area.

These males were trying to obtain work in the local area and residents were concerned they may be trying to scam vulnerable people.

Police advice is not to use any cold callers and to use traders who they know or come recommended by family or friends. We advise that you obtain three quotes from trusted traders and obtain an itemised bill which shows the total price of the agreed work to be completed, cost of materials and labour charges. This should hopefully get you a competitive quotation and allow you to obtain advice from three different people to establish exactly what is required.

Please look out for vulnerable neighbours or family and pass them this advice.

Regards

Paul Shepherd

IMPORTANT – COVE ROAD CHILDREN’S PLAYGROUND
Silverdale Parish Council regrets that both shock absorbing springs on the Children’s Playground’s Zip wire catenary cable have been found broken today (Friday 28th August). We don’t know the reason for this, but this means that the carriage will come to a sudden stop, rather than progressively decelerate. We have taken the Zip Wire out of service by removing the drop seat and will enquire about cost and availability of spare parts as soon as possible. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Cove Road – Children’s Playground closed 20 and 21 April
The Children’s Playground at Cove Road will be closed on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st April to allow Parish Council contractors to renovate and resin point the entrance paved area. This is to protect users from being affected by dust when the old pointing is ground out. The pathway to Silverdale Bowling Club will still be open and the contractors have been asked to stop work if members wish to pass by. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
