Can you help? Combe Street has a number of blocked drains and the highways team need to be able to access every one of them. If you live on the street, can you try and park on another street this Thursday? Thank you in advance.

We have been notified by Somerset Council Highways that urgent works are scheduled to take place on Thursday 29th October.

The affected area has been identified as the section of Combe Street between the junction with Zembard Lane and the junction with the A30 (shown in red on the map).

Parking Restrictions – Thursday 29th October

Residents are kindly requested to refrain from parking in this area between 00:00 and 23:59 on Thursday 29th October.
This will allow Somerset Council Highways to jet all gullies and help minimise the risk of potential flooding.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Thank you Labour for the fuel finder app which encourages people to drive a bit further to save pennies on a litre of fuel.

What would be more useful for families would be...

βœ… Cheaper public transport
βœ… Free bus travel for people the under 21
βœ… Uncouple the renewable energy sector from the fossil fuel market.
βœ… Tax the fossil fuel sector and billionaires properly and support households to decarbonise and lower their bills.

There are many great policies out there the Government could use. Checkout the Green Party of England and Wales for other ways of helping the UK become a fairer place to live in.

The petition calling for protection of the Chard Reservoir LNR continues to stay active , at least until the Somerset Council confirm when there will be an update and presentation to the public. When will this be? Will they kick it into the long grass or drag their heals until purdah begins in March, leaving the problem to be dealt with by the next party who comes into power?

Those 6666 who have already signed are well aware that the devil is in the detail and are wondering if they will ever get answers to their questions.

Loss of habitat, increased pollution, compulsory purchase of property, damage to local businesses, impact on the cycle route, lack of transparency ❓❓❓❓❓

The cost of the decommissioning will be staggering and it will be paid for by future generations.
