A wonderful community effort at our Community Litter Pick! 🍂

A huge thank you to everyone who gave up part of their Saturday morning to help keep Chickerell looking its best. Despite a chilly start, the weather was very kind to us and provided perfect conditions for getting out and about. Together, volunteers collected nine bags of litter.

It was particularly uplifting to hear the many words of encouragement from residents passing by, who took the time to thank our volunteers for their efforts. Those conversations and gestures of support mean a great deal and show the pride that exists within our community.

We're also grateful to Life and Soul Community trust for providing some very welcome refreshments at the Village Café afterwards. The tea, coffee and treats were thoroughly appreciated after a productive morning's work.

Thank you once again to everyone who took part. Whether you joined the litter pick, offered words of encouragement, or helped provide refreshments, you all played a part in making the event such a success. Together, we continue to make a positive difference to our community. 🌿♻️ Keep Britain Tidy

🎄 We're Looking for More Festive Stallholders! 🎄

Planning is well underway for Christmas at Willowbed - Jingle & Mingle 2026, and we're continuing to welcome expressions of interest from local businesses, makers, crafters, charities, community groups, and food & drink providers.

This brand-new community event aims to bring together festive shopping, entertainment, family fun and local organisations for an enjoyable evening at Willowbed.

📅 Friday 20 November 2026
🕓 4.00pm - 8.00pm
📍 Willowbed Hall, Chickerell

Indoor stall spaces are limited and we are keen to create a varied market with a great mix of local products, gifts, crafts and festive treats. Applications for outdoor stalls are also being considered.

🎅 We're particularly keen to hear from a local charity, community group or organisation interested in running a Santa's Grotto as a fundraising opportunity. We've heard from the North Pole that Santa has managed to find space in his very busy schedule to visit Chickerell, but he'll need some helpers to make the experience magical for local children!

Interested in taking part? Visit our website to download an Expression of Interest Form or contact the Town Council on 01305 767458 for further information.

🚻 Temporary Changes to Willowbed Public Toilet Opening Hours 🚻

Following a trial period of operation for the new public toilet facility at Willowbed, we have identified the need to make further improvements to ensure our emergency response procedures remain robust and effective.

While these measures are implemented, the public toilet will temporarily be available during Town Council office opening hours only and will therefore be closed on weekday afternoons and at weekends.

We appreciate this may cause some inconvenience, however the safety and wellbeing of residents and visitors must remain our priority.

We are working to put the necessary arrangements in place as quickly as possible and hope to reinstate extended opening hours at the earliest opportunity.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.
