BREAKING: Judge Altham will decide whether the Barclays 5 will be sentenced as terrorists, on Friday 21st August.

The five were only told they could face a terrorist sentencing, after they were convicted of criminal damage, for spraying red paint and damaging windows at Barclays branch in Burnley.

Neither the jury, nor the defendants, knew that they could be sentenced as terrorists.

Their action and dozens of other similar actions, led to Barclays pulling out their shares in Israeli weapons firm Elbit Systems.

The state wants to crack down on direct action as its effective against the Israeli war machine.

We must resist the terrorist sentencing of Palestine Action activists.

Chorley for Palestine are thrilled to announce Cllr. Craige Southern’s donation of £250 to Medical Aid for Palestine.

Following an attack on a member of this campaign in Chorley Borough Council chambers, Cllr. Craige Southern was convicted of Assault by beating on Wednesday 25th March 2025.

In what we can only assume was a premature evaluation, Cllr Craige Southern attempted to delay justice by instigating an appeal he was never going to win; his solicitor first claimed he was otherwise engaged on the first appeal date (2 working hours before the day); then they completely abandoned the appeal the day before the second date; Cllr Craige Southern remains convicted of Assault by beating.

On conviction, Cllr Craige Southern was ordered to compensate the victim by paying £250. This has been forwarded on to Medical Aid for Palestine on his behalf. This campaign group has covered the transaction fees to ensure every single penny of Cllr. Craige Southern’s money has gone to Gaza.

Inshallah this small token will ease starvation, oppression and assist with shelter, especially during this time of Ramadan.
