At St Augustine's, we know that every school day matters. Regular attendance helps children build friendships, develop confidence, keep up with their learning and make the most of every opportunity school has to offer.

Even a small amount of time missed can add up over the school year, which is why being in school, on time and ready to learn is so important.

We understand that children can be unwell and that sometimes absence is unavoidable. However, wherever possible, we encourage all our families to make attendance a priority and help children establish positive habits that will support them throughout their education.

A few minutes late each day can make a big difference over time. Arriving on time means that pupils can settle into the classroom, ready for the day ahead.

πŸ“’ Half Term Holiday Reminder πŸ‚

A gentle reminder that school will close tomorrow at 3:15pm for the half-term holiday.

We wish all our families a restful, happy and blessed half-term break. May you enjoy a wonderful time together! πŸ’›

πŸ’§πŸŒ Today, our Year 7 pupils took part in a special CAFOD assembly all about access to clean water in Zimbabwe.

The assembly explored how some pupils previously had no access to clean water at school, and how, thanks to the work of charities such as CAFOD, many children now have access to this vital resource. πŸ’™

Access to clean water makes a huge difference to school life. When children no longer have to travel long distances to collect water, they can spend more time in the classroom, focus on their learning and enjoy their education. πŸ“š

Clean water also helps schools to grow their own vegetables, support school feeding programmes and improve health and hygiene through safe drinking water and handwashing facilities. CAFOD also works with local partners to help communities maintain their water supplies for the future. πŸŒ±πŸ’§

A huge thank you to Dianne and Christine for leading the assembly and helping our pupils understand how access to clean water can transform lives and create brighter futures for children and communities. 🌍✨

πŸŽ„ Year 11 Christmas Hamper Appeal 🎁

After half term, our Year 11 pupils will be collecting luxury items and treats to create special Christmas hampers for the Senior Citizens’ Party they are hosting in school on the afternoon of Tuesday 8 December.

We would be very grateful for any donations of luxury food items, chocolates, biscuits, toiletries or other festive treats. If you are able to purchase something over half term, please send it into school with your child.

πŸ“¦ A collection box will be available in each form, and we kindly ask that all donations are brought in by Monday 30 November to allow time for the hampers to be prepared before the event.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support in helping our Year 11 pupils make this a special occasion for our senior citizens. β€οΈπŸŽ„

⚽ A huge well done to Year 7 pupils Elsie and Primrose! πŸ‘

Both girls proudly represented Manchester City Football Club in a recent tournament, winning four out of their five group games before reaching the quarter-finals.

Elsie made some fantastic saves in goal, while Primrose contributed plenty of goals and assists. The girls narrowly lost 1–0 to AIK Stockholm in the quarter-final, who went on to win the tournament. It was a close contest, and our girls gave them a real challenge!

We are incredibly proud of Elsie and Primrose and their fantastic performances. What a brilliant achievement! πŸ’™βš½

🌍 A Better World Needs All of Us! 🌍

Today, CAFOD delivered workshops for our KS3 pupils during their RE lessons, exploring how we can all play a part in creating a better world.

Pupils took on the role of project managers, putting our Catholic Social Teaching into action by exploring three key principles: human dignity, solidarity and subsidiarity.

An inspiring opportunity for our pupils to consider how their choices and actions can make a positive difference to others and help build a fairer, more compassionate world. πŸ’™
