The committee and members of the FCG extend their heartfelt condolences to the family of Shane Hurson. We were deeply saddened to learn of Shane's passing on Saturday afternoon.
Shane and the Hurson family have long been associated with the group. His late father, Pat, was a founding member of the FCG and daughter Maureen, Shane's sister, has kept that connection continuing to serve as a committee member of the FCG.
Despite facing significant health challenges, we were truly delighted that Shane was able to join us for our 40th Anniversary celebrations last Year.
Shane will be fondly remembered by all of us and will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

A massive thank you to the members of the Lough 5 organising team who presented the Friendly Care Group, Termonmaguirc and the Termonmaguirc Cancer Patients Comfort Fund with very generous donations from the proceeds of the Lough 5 run Dec 31 2025. We are most grateful for their continued support of our groups, it is with their hugely generous donations that we in the Friendly Care Group are able to organise events and activities for our members and their carers during the year.
Thank you again to the whole team involved in the running of the Lough 5. The run was a huge success and the organisers deserve great credit for this tremendous annual spectacle.
We would also like to thank the many local businesses that contribute to the costs of running the Lough 5, it is with their support that the Lough 5 team can make such generous donations to the two local charities. Thank you again.
