A very informative assembly held by Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service this afternoon.

The team delivered important safety messages and reminders in relation to the upcoming events of Halloween and Bonfire Night.

Our visitors were impressed by the children's knowledge, behaviour and engagement.

The children also learnt some vital history... including Guy Fawkes' real name!

Naturally, there was a little time for a Q&A session too.

Thank you Workington Fire Station. ❤️

An enriching week for Year 5...

Year 5 had a wonderful time at Christ Church Cockermouth, learning all about the life of Jesus. These sessions were both informative and interactive. The workshops allowed children to build upon prior knowledge/ understanding as well as develop new knowledge to help them with future Christianity topics in Religious Education. Our Year 6 children are also visiting the exhibition this week.

Year 5 also participated in a live lesson all about looking after our oceans and coral reefs. The classrooms linked-up with the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth. Such a great addition to their learning in Geography and English this term.

School Leader Awards! 🌟

Look at the fabulous progress this young man has made with joining his handwriting. Mrs. Taylor was also so incredibly proud!

This delightful Year 6 is such a talented artist, who spoke so confidently (and proudly) about her finished masterpiece.

Fabulous visitors. ❤️

This morning, Year 2 have had a wonderful trip with Mr and Mrs Sapsford (Governor) from the Civic Trust.

The children walked around Cockermouth town and looked at the Georgian buildings and hidden history.

They also went into the Iron Mongers and looked at their original Georgian stock.

It was amazing to see history embedded within our local town!

A lovely enriching experience linked to their History topic of study- The Georgians!

Celebration Assembly Certificate Winners 🌟

We celebrated the success of feedback from visitors, our generosity to the Food Bank and enrichment experiences.

We also applauded Class 1NP, who were crowned this week's attendance champions.

On the note of attendance, congratulations to Lennon, who was our 100% Club winner this week.

A special mention to Leah, Lyla and Rosa who were awarded with the prestigious Writing Subject Certificates.

A huge well done to our value certificate winners, who were celebrated for their 'building confidence' skills- this week's value of focus.

It's been another truly wonderful week at Fairfield. ❤
