PGL Day 3 – What a way to start the day!
Well, Day 3 started rather abruptly with an unplanned fire alarm going off just after 7am! Luckily, Mrs Doe, Mrs Smith and Mrs Sherburn were already up and raring to go. The children, however, had a slightly different challenge ahead of them!

Bags packed and dorms vacated by 8:30am was the mission. Three dorms managed this perfectly well, but the fourth dorm needed adult intervention in a BIG way! You can only imagine!

After a successful breakfast, with the sun shining, we were ready for our first activity of the day: abseiling! The children were absolutely incredible and made it look almost effortless. They showed fantastic courage, determination and resilience. What a brilliant way to start the day!

Our final activity was archery, and the children quickly got the hang of it. By the end, far more arrows were making their way onto the target rather than into the grass!
Then it was time for lunch, our goodbyes to our fantastic PGL leader and, sadly, our farewell to PGL.

Taking Year 6 to PGL so early in the academic year is such a special experience. It gives friendships time to develop, allows children to shine in ways we don't always see in the classroom, and creates those wonderful memories that will stay with them for years to come.

We've laughed, challenged ourselves, supported one another and made memories to treasure.

What a fantastic three days for Turner class year 6s. Regis, you've done us proud!

PGL Day 2 – What a Fantastic Day! 1/2
We started with a delicious breakfast. Then our first activity was the Vertical Challenge – WOW! What a challenge it was! But this is Regis, and we absolutely smashed it!

Next up was raft building… or was it swimming? The children worked brilliantly as a team to build their rafts before heading out onto the lake. They loved every minute of paddling around and putting their teamwork to the test!

Lunch was cheeseburgers, with some of the boys developing a rather unusual obsession with the vinegar! The real highlight, however, was the drinks machine… sometimes visited up to EIGHT times!

After lunch, we tried our hand at fencing, which was so much fun! Mrs Sherburn even got involved! We then tackled Jacob’s Ladder, which required incredible teamwork, determination and perseverance. The children really showed what they are made of!

A visit to the shop followed, where lots of lovely memories were bought to take home.

Dinner brought with it another interesting obsession… this time, the salad bar!

Finally, we rounded off our day with a campfire, fantastic glow-in-the-dark glasses and, of course, toasting marshmallows. What a perfect end to another brilliant day!

The dorm inspections have been VERY frequent this year, and Mrs Doe would like to make it absolutely clear that she was definitely NOT bribed with a packet of Rolos!

In a new PGL twist, the children have actually been carrying out room inspections on the teachers! Mrs Smith scored an impressive 10/10. Clearly, the standards are high at Regis!

We have made SO many memories, sung SO many songs and shared so much laughter.

We are incredibly proud of how the children have thrown themselves into every activity, supported one another and embraced every challenge.

Another unforgettable day for Regis!

PGL – Day 1 Update! 🌟
We have had a fantastic first day at PGL! So far, the children have enjoyed Aero-ball, Trapeze and Balloon Splash. There have been lots of smiles, laughter and opportunities to try something new!

The instructors have been absolutely brilliant, encouraging the children every step of the way and helping them make the most of every activity.

The traditional PGL PJ fashion show was the BEST EVER! 😂🎉 The children absolutely embraced it, and there were some brilliant outfits on display!

What a way to end a fantastic first day!

What a brilliant start to our PGL adventure! We can't wait to see what tomorrow brings! 😊

We’ve had a brilliant time exploring our outdoor learning area in Fox class. Being out in nature gives the children so many opportunities to learn, create, and grow together.

It has been fantastic to see the children working as a team to build amazing structures, sharing big ideas, and helping each other along the way, it’s been wonderful to see new friendships blossom.

Exploring the outdoors brings out so much curiosity, problem-solving, and smiles! 🪵🍁

We were delighted to welcome back Wiltshire Cricket to Corsham Regis Primary Academy this term!

Our children had a brilliant time rotating through a series of fun, action-packed activity stations designed to develop core ball skills, hand-eye coordination, and fundamental cricket techniques. Everyone showed fantastic enthusiasm and team spirit.

A huge thank you to Wiltshire Cricket for another inspiring and high-energy coaching session! 🌟👏

Our lovely Fox Class children have been busy getting creative with colourful playdough and a whole range of exciting tools!

While they were having heaps of fun squishing, rolling, pinching, and cutting, they were also hard at work on some crucial physical development. Engaging with playdough strengthens the small muscles in little hands and fingers, a vital step in building fine motor skills and dexterity.

Every squeeze and roll helps build the hand strength and pencil control required for confident mark-making and writing. 🌟
