Can you help us share the books everyone wants to read this month? 📚

There’s high demand for our 10 most wanted titles, and many eager customers are waiting to borrow them. We’ve purchased as many copies as our budget allows, but if you’re able to help, we’d be truly grateful.

If you have a pristine copy, you’ve finished reading - whether it’s one you bought yourself or received as a gift - you can donate it at any library in Devon or Torbay. We’ll add it to our collection to help reduce the waiting list.

Have you tried BorrowBox? 🎧🍂 We offer free digital audiobooks, magazines and eBooks through the BorrowBox app. All you need is a library card and PIN, and you can start borrowing today!

Don't forget that we are open today until 1pm and then we will be CLOSED from Monday to Friday next week for all visits, groups, activities or building use. This is for the installation of the Open Plus system, wiring etc. We will reopen on Saturday 10th October. So for next week:

- there are no due dates for next week, so books do not need to be returned. If you have late books, feel free to return them when we reopen - there are no fines any longer

- there will be no food larder

- the town council will not be in the library on Monday

- there will be no community banking or Crediton Courier desk

- we will be working from home. We cannot answer telephone enquiries, which will route to the call centre, but we can respond to email and social media

- contractors will be on site every day, so please leave our car park clear for their vehicles

Don't forget that you can borrow e-books, e-audio books and read online newspapers and magazines through the Borrowbox app.

We look forward to seeing you again on the other side of the closure.

Happy October - we’ve got a treat for you! Our libraries are abolishing late fees, including all existing overdue fines. No tricks! 🎃💚

We hope by removing overdue fees, we are further reducing barriers to reading. This change is effective immediately.

Reservation fees and charges for lost items will still apply.

Please note that the library is closed today, Thursday 1st October, to allow for OpenPlus installation work. Thus there will not be any service from the Lloyds Community Banker today, nor will there be a chance to meet with the Crediton Courier editor.
Please accept our apologies. We will reopen tomorrow (Friday) from 9-6 and then Saturday from 9-1, before being closed for the whole of next week for further OpenPlus work. Thank you for bearing with us while we take steps to improve your library service.

Good morning! Just a note to say that our lovely Lloyds Community Banker will be here this morning, but I'm afraid she's stuck in traffic in Exeter at the moment. She'll hopefully be here by about 9:30.

(Also, some advance warning: with the upcoming temporary library closures, I'm afraid the Community Banker will not be here for the next two Thursdays, 1st and 8th October. Please accept our apologies)

Please note that we have been asked to allow extra time for the installation of Open Plus, the system to extend our opening outside of staffed hours in the future.

This means that, as well as October 5th to 9th, we will now also be CLOSED next THURSDAY, 1st OCTOBER.

No library services, or the services of anyone who uses the library building, will be available on any of those dates. We apologise for the inconvenience.
