At Cricklade Pre-School Playgroup we teach the children to show care, concern and respect to all living creatures.
Today we had a visit from Dougie the horse who was kindly brought up so the children could learn a little about him.
During the week the children had been talking about their teeth which included how to look after them and how they could keep them healthy so today they were able to look at Dougies teeth and see how they compared to their own teeth.
Dougie behaved like a superstar and the children were all able to listen carefully to instructions ,gently pat him and feed him some grass.
The children were also able to see Dougies hooves and how the feathers cover them.

Today we took advantage of the beautiful weather and went for a walk.
The children walked safely holding hands and listened to what the adults said.
They noticed the changes in the environment and talked about everything they saw including a little bumble bee.
They were then given checklists of things to look for and they eagerly marked each one off as they found the item.
The Churchyard had lots of things to see including the squirrels who were playing in the sunshine and collecting and nibbling the conkers.
The children counted the steeples on the church and looked at the glass windows and flowers .They also collected a wide range of natural items including sticks, feathers, acorns and conkers to take back to preschool.
Back at preschool they used the sticks and feathers to paint and mark make.

Can you help?
Its hard to believe we are already half way through this half term with Christmas soon approaching.
We have 2 planned fundraising events which we would appreciate your help with.
Our first is the bags2school collection, this is where we can use any donated clothes, shoes, hats and bags and turn it into money which is then used to go towards providing extra activities and events including the Christmas party at no extra charge to the parents.
So please if you are having a sort out and have items to donate please drop them off at preschool where we have room to store them.
We also have the Craft event on 21st November and are looking for stall holders and /or anyone that could kindly donate a raffle prize.
Please get in touch with preschool for more information on 01793 750817 or email [email protected].
