Cullompton Fire Station

11/09/2026

Today we honour the memory of those who lost their lives 25 years ago on 11 September 2001. We at Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service are honoured to join National September 11 Memorial & Museum in remembrance and share this picture of the sky we all share.

We remember the brave firefighters and emergency service workers who selflessly responded to help those in need.

We will never forget.

This week at our weekly drill night we said goodbye to our Crew Manager Dan Stone who leaves the station after 22 years of service.

During those years Dan has served the community with commitment, professionalism and helped make Cullompton a safer place.

As Dan moves on to the next chapter, we would like to thank him for everything he has contributed to the station and for the countless hours he has given over the years.

Dan was presented with his axe by our Watch Manager Mal Green as a small token of appreciation for his many years of service.

Dan isn't leaving the fire service totally as he will continue in his role as a Whole time firefighter in Taunton.

Thank you Dan 🚒🔥

A drought has been declared across Devon and Somerset, and surrounding areas 🚨

Hot, dry conditions mean a higher risk of wildfires and increased pressure on water supplies.

We’re reducing non-essential water use, reviewing firefighting water supplies, and ensuring our wildfire resources – including water bowsers, 4x4s, ATVs and drones – are ready to respond.

Help to protect each other, and our countryside and water supplies, by:

🔥 Avoiding campfires and disposable BBQs
🍖 Staying with BBQs and fire pits
🚬 Never dropping lit ci******es on dry ground
💧 Using water wisely
