Home-Start Falkirk Volunteer Befriending Service offering non-judgmental, confidential support to families with at least

Home-Start Falkirk West offers support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children. We offer a unique service, recruiting and training volunteers - who are usually parents themselves - to visit families at home who have at least one child under 5 to offer informal, friendly and confidential support. To help give children the best possible start in life, we support parents as they grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children and widen their links with the local community.

We wanted to share the fun we had at our Halloween Foodie event with our Falkirk families during the October break.
This could not have happened without the Fairer Falkirk Fund Falkirk Council granted us.
Thank you, we all had lots of fun! And learned a couple of home cooked reciepes!

It was a pleasure hosting a healthy food themed halloween event with One Parent Families Scotland - Falkirk during the October Break. Thank you to all the families who came along and made some spooky smoothies, scary pizzas, veggie stick monsters and our jelly and fruit witches potions. 🎃

Tomorrow (Wednesday) is our Sensory Play session, featuring two rooms: a large playroom with toys for the kids, and a smaller, quiet room for those who prefer a calmer environment. It's free and require no booking. Just come along and enjoy😀🥳Child with age 5 or under are welcome. Also be prepared it's Halloween.

Every penny really matters, and can make such a difference to the support and activities we can offer our families.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a massive THANK YOU! to Sharon for organising and preparing a collection of filled, good quality used handbags for our supported mums as well as some self care bags for our dads.

Sharon was a part of Larbert Rotarty who historically organised this for us, but sadly disbanded in 2024.
Amazingly, Sharon has managed to keep this going on her own last year, and has just dropped off another supply to us this morning for this year.

It is so important that we can give a gift to adults, as well as the children we support.

We are very grateful for all your hard work, care and support to our local families, Thank you!
