💜 Boundaries: Protection, not rejection

Do you find it difficult to say no, put your own needs first or set limits without feeling guilty?

Join us at Women’s Centre Derry for a supportive workshop about care, choice and respect.

Together, we’ll explore:
🟠 What boundaries are and why they matter
🟠 Saying no with confidence and managing feelings of guilt
🟠 Respecting other people’s boundaries
🟠 What to do when a boundary is ignored or challenged

You are allowed to have needs, limits and choices.

🎄🎁 OUR CHRISTMAS TOY APPEAL IS BACK! 🎁🎄

With Christmas fast approaching, demand for support is high. Rising costs mean many families are struggling to heat their homes and put food on the table, leaving little to spare for Christmas gifts.

Last year, your generosity helped bring Christmas magic to 108 children in our community. With your help, we hope to make a difference again this year. ❤️

We’re collecting brand-new, unwrapped toys and gifts. If you’re able to give, every donation will help make Christmas special for a child and ease some of the pressure on their family.

Local businesses and community groups wishing to donate or organise a collection are very welcome to get in touch.

📅 Donation deadline: 11 December 2026
📍 Women’s Centre Derry, 5 Guildhall Street, Derry, BT48 6BB

🎭 Behind the Mask: Who are we when no-one is watching?

As Halloween approaches, we’re inviting women to reflect on the different roles we carry and the parts of ourselves we show to others.

For Domestic Abuse Awareness Month, this gentle workshop will explore expectations, our public face and private feelings, choice and necessity, and how healthy relationships can help us feel safe to be ourselves. We’ll also think about what it means to “take the mask off” safely.

Come as you are. There is no pressure to share personal experiences.

📅 Tuesday 20 October

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our candle decorating workshop to mark Baby Loss Awareness Day. 🤍🕯️

It was such a beautiful and meaningful workshop, spent with an incredible, strong and inspiring group of women. We feel so privileged that you chose to join us, share your stories and honour the memories of your beautiful babies. 💗

Together, we created candles to take home and light tonight at 7pm as part of the Wave of Light, remembering all the precious babies gone too soon and joining families around the world in lighting a candle in their memory. 🕯️✨

Thank you for sharing a little piece of your hearts with us. Every baby is loved, every baby is remembered, and every story matters. Forever loved, forever missed, never forgotten. 🤍 The National Lottery Community Fund Sands - baby loss charity

Yesterday, we hosted a workshop on Building Healthy Relationships facilitated by counsellers Alex Finlay and Kat Crossan. In a supportive and welcoming environment, participants explored components of healthy relationships, boundary setting, and identifying harmful behaviours in relationships.

Next week’s workshop is Behind the Mask, where we will reflect on the different roles that we carry and the parts of ourselves that we choose to show to others. In this gentle and accessible workshop, we will explore societal expectations, our public face and private feelings, choices, and how healthy relationships can help us feel safe to be ourselves. We’ll also discuss what it means to “take the mask off” safely.

Come as you are. There is no pressure to share personal experiences.
