Auckley Parish Council A Parish Council is a local authority that makes decisions on behalf of the people in the parish. It aims to provide and maintain local facilities.

Auckley Parish Council is the first tier of local Government and closest to the community which it serves. Auckley Parish Council (APC) represents residents across the parish of Auckley. Meetings commence at 6:30 pm on the second Wednesday of every month (except August) at Auckley Parish Centre. Members of the public are welcome at monthly meetings, although public participation is limited to the first 15 minutes. Residents can bring to the attention of the parish council anything that concerns them, either directly (by attending a meeting) or through the clerk (via email). If matters raised are not the responsibility of the council, the clerk can bring them to the attention of the proper authority. Councillors all live in (or very close to) Auckley so we are part of our community too.

Calling all those interested in becoming a Charity Trustee
The Charity of Richard Metcalfe has its origins in the 17th century when it was established to support the poor of Auckley. Its objectives have not changed even though social and financial developments no longer reflect 17th century Auckley. The Trustees role is to ensure that it honours and operates within the original objectives. In so doing they volunteer their time and effort in supporting the Charity.
The Charity would now like to hear from people who are interested in becoming a trustee.
Please contact the Clerk to Auckley Parish Council ([email protected] or 07857 568268) who will forward your details on to the Charity.

Parish Councillor Majorie Caygill - RIP

It is with much sadness to report that Marjorie passed away on 9 July 2026 following a period of illness borne with immense fortitude and dignity.

Marjorie's contribution to the parish council and wider community is immeasurable.

She was Clerk to the Council for over 40 years and on her retirement was co-opted to the council. She also served on the Richard Metcalfe Charity Committee as Secretary, worked at Auckley Surgery and served as a member of Cantley with Branton Parish Council.

Deepest sympathy is extended to her family and many friends. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.
