Louis' Accessible Gaming Cafe is a dedicated space for anyone interested in creating their own games, exploring game design and learning how AI tools can support the game development. But more importantly, it's about socialising within a fun and friendly environment.

💙 World PURA Awareness Day! 💙

Today at we’re celebrating Angelo who is supported at Encombe and we’re raising awareness of PURA syndrome which is a rare genetic condition that affects brain development and the nervous system.

PURA syndrome can cause developmental delays, low muscle tone, speech and communication difficulties, and other health challenges. Every person with PURA is unique, and the support they need can vary.

Everyone has been involved in the preparations and we are marking the day with yummy cakes and colourful banners. 🍰 We are sharing information, helping people we support learn more about PURA and the importance of awareness, inclusion and understanding.

We’ll also be sharing helpful facts with Angelo’s friends over the weekend at Encombe to help spread the word and ensure more people understand PURA syndrome. 🙂

We’re excited to share that the total raised at the recent tea party in aid of Guide Dogs was an incredible £970! 🥳 A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated and supported the event.

We were proud to sponsor the tea and cakes for the event, helping to make the day extra special while supporting such a fantastic cause.

Wendy said “Thank you so much to everyone for their support with this event, it means a lot and all going to a really good cause” 🥰

Their fundraising group won’t be stopping there, they will be organising more events throughout the year, running until the end of March, with an exciting new goal in mind: raising £2,500 to name a Guide Dog puppy! 🐾

Having already held a couple of events, they’re well on their way to reaching their target which is amazing!

🌍🍽️ World Food Day 2026

Today is World Food Day — a chance to recognise the importance of food and the role it plays in bringing people together. We couldn’t resist sharing some photos of a few people who are supported by Encompass Care and, Andy our Operations Manager who all love their food! 😄🍽️

But for some people, being able to enjoy food outside of the home isn’t always straightforward. People who require a modified diet may need their food to be blended, mashed or prepared to a particular consistency to eat safely. This can cause a barrier when it comes to eating out, making it a daunting experience for individuals enjoying food with friends and family.

Over a year ago, Encompass care launched a Modified Diet Pledge which is our commitment to make eating out more accessible for people who face chewing or swallowing difficulties. Our pledge encourages food venues, cafés and restaurants to consider the needs of people who require modified diets. This helps to create more inclusive opportunities for everyone to enjoy food together because we believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy food, be part of their community and share those special moments around the table. 🥰

Weymouth Seafront Litter Pick – 22nd October! 🌊🚮

We’re excited to be supporting Dimensions at Weymouth Seafront next Thursday, 22nd October for a community litter pick!

Encompass will be teaming up with Muntsy's and Stability Friends to help keep our stunning coastline clean, protect our environment and make a positive difference in our local community.

The event will also be supporting Dimensions’ Small Sparks, which is their fantastic cause which helps autistic people and individuals with learning disabilities change their lives through work, friendships, hobbies or improved independence.

Every piece of litter collected makes a difference, and by working together, we can help create a cleaner, safer environment and a more welcoming beach for everyone to enjoy.
This is open to anyone who would like support Dimensions. Sponsorships are optional if you wish to contribute raising funds for Small Sparks. (See sponsor form attached if you wish to collect sponsorships)

Their commitment to inclusion extends into the wider community too. Through their Modified Diet Pledge, Encompass Care is helping to raise awareness and make eating out more accessible for people with chewing or swallowing difficulties (dysphagia).

Their Sitting Together initiative is also helping to create more inclusive outdoor spaces through specially designed wheelchair-accessible picnic benches, allowing wheelchair users to sit together with friends, family and their wider community.

One of the highlights of Christmas for us is seeing people supported by Encompass Care enjoying Nutley Farm with their families and support staff. Seeing everyone enjoying the lights, meeting the reindeer and soaking up the festive atmosphere makes their continued support particularly special 🎄✨

Inclusivity is really important to us too. Following improvements to our accessible pathways last year, we’ll once again be holding our dedicated SEND-friendly evening on Wednesday 2nd December, offering a quieter and more relaxed experience for children and young people with sensory needs and their families.
