This summer Dudley Zoo and Castle is hosting Wild Bricks!

Come and discover a spectacular trail of life-sized endangered animals made of thousands of colourful toy bricks, including an orangutan, giant panda and African elephant.

From Saturday, July 18 and running throughout the six-week holidays, visitors can discover the incredible brick sculptures around the zoo’s pathways, alongside our 140 amazing real animal species.

The interactive trail is included in general zoo admission, but we’re giving a 30 per cent discount on tickets pre-booked by July 17, by quoting BRICKS30 at the checkout.

Zoo Director Matt Lewis, said: β€œWe’re incredibly excited to bring Wild Bricks to DZC this summer. We hope it will provide a fun and interactive opportunity for us to engage with visitors of all ages and help highlight the plight of animals around the planet and what we can do to protect them."

Our first Twilight Tour runs next weekend and we'd love for you to join us πŸŒ™

Whether it's a date night with a twist, a catch up with friends, or just something a bit different - we've got you covered. Head down at 6pm, 7pm, or 8pm and drift into the caverns as it's getting dark, with music and light bringing the atmosphere.

We'll be joined by Jolly's Indian Street Kitchen for some tasty food which you can enjoy canalside with a drink from our bottle bar. Or bring your own picnic. It's the kind of evening that feels completely different.

Wild orchids! Have you spotted any across Birmingham and the Black Country? It's always a great day to spot the first common spotted orchid flowering in the meadow of our Centre of the Earth headquarters in Winson Green (and we got a bonus hoverfly in the picture too)! There are 57 species of orchid native to the UK, and here in Birmingham and the Black Country we have records of 15, plus one hybrid. Some are surprisingly easy to spot, whilst others are rarities and are only found in select areas. They are all absolutely stunning plants!
