As part of her ongoing commitment to delivering a first-class service for victims of crime, County Durham and Darlington Police and Crime Commissioner Joy Allen has brought together the Victim Care and Advice Service and Community Peer Mentor Service under a single identity – the Victim Care and Mentor Service.

The new service will provide coordinated, personalised and compassionate support for victims, ensuring individuals can access practical help, emotional support and guidance through a single, recognisable service.

🚗 What a fantastic start to the Driving for Better Business roadshow here in the North East!

It was lovely to see so many businesses coming together, sharing ideas and showing a real commitment to keeping people safe on our roads. A big thank you to the North East Chamber of Commerce, Driving for Better Business, our brilliant speakers and everyone who joined us for making the launch such a positive event.

Reducing the number of people killed and seriously injured on our roads is something very close to my heart. We all have a part to play, and it’s encouraging to see businesses taking that responsibility seriously. Safer driving makes better business sense, but most importantly, it saves lives.

Let’s keep working together to make sure more people get home safely to their loved ones.
