🪡 Free craft workshop at EVI with The Community Shawl Project! 🧶 This Fri 23rd October, 10am to 2pm. Limited spaces remaining.

Be a part of the fantastic White Ribbon Community Banner project and join this hands-on creative workshop. Create a textile square which will form part of a banner exhibited at the Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre in Newport, as part of their 16 day exhibition to mark White Ribbon UK Day 🧵 🤍🎗️

All materials provided, but feel free to bring your own fabrics and sewing kit! Design your square with words, images, or patterns - come with an idea or let us help you map it out on the day.

Offered as a safe and welcoming space for women, the workshop is free, with an optional donation to the White Ribbon campaign on the day.

🍃 Join us for Qigong on Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 at EVI 🧘

☯️ Explore the Chinese practice of Qigong with Dek Leverton in his evening classes here at the EVI. Reduce stress levels, improve posture and balance, increase flexibility and restore the natural harmony of your body, mind and spirit.

🌊 Qigong is easy to learn and enjoyable to do. These slow, gently flowing movements are designed to be comfortable for your body and are low in impact.

📅 Wednesdays, 5:30 - 6:30. £10 per session, with discounted block blockings available.

Join us for a free Creative Electronics workshop at EVI, delivered by our friends at Rewise Learning. In this exciting hands-on workshop, you will use a kit to build, wire, and programme an electronic device, learning creativity and coding whilst having fun.

To join, you need to be at 16+, and not in employment, education or training.

Whilst the workshop runs from 10am – 3pm, the day will be flexible allowing you to leave if needed.

📣 Sunflower Café will be at Festival Café tomorrow (21st) 🍰

📍In a change of plans, this week on Wednesday 21st October, the Sunflower Café will be held at Festival Cafe near the old Festival Park site in Ebbw Vale.

☕ All are welcome to meet us there from 11am - 1pm for tea, coffee, cakes, and a natter.

🌻 The Sunflower Café is a dementia-friendly warm and welcoming space for caregivers of all kinds, those they care for, and anyone looking for a bit of company. Pop in and find out more!

🧘 Qigong for carers this Wednesday 21st with our Carer Wellbeing Pathways group! ☁️

☯️ Explore the Chinese practice of Qigong this Wednesday from 12pm - 1pm. Reduce stress levels, improve posture and balance, increase flexibility and restore the natural harmony of your body, mind and spirit.

🍴 Afterwards, there is a free light lunch, hot drinks, informal chat, and 1:1 carer info & mentoring sessions.

🩵 Caring for a loved one or managing a long-term health condition can leave very little time for yourself. Carer Wellbeing Pathways is a free, flexible weekly group created to help you recharge and connect with people who understand - open to carers of all kinds. This group is also open to people who have cared in the past but circumstances have changed.

🌻 This group runs alongside the Sunflower Café, our dementia-friendly group, where people are able to be left in a supportive environment.

Our ‘Fill Your Freezer’ Workshop Is Back!

Learn new skills, get hands-on in the kitchen and make 3 delicious family meals to take home and enjoy straight away or freeze for another day. A great way to build confidence in the kitchen, make the most of fresh ingredients and prepare tasty meals for all the family.

The workshop is open to everybody but priority will be given to people who are currently out of work or looking for work.
