My little Nina is 4 🥹💗
7 years ago, becoming a mum completely changed the direction of my life… and it’s the reason this business exists today.
Motherhood wasn’t something I had planned at the time. But when my son arrived, everything shifted.
I was working in hospitality, with hours that simply didn’t work for a mum. Very quickly I realised I had to find another way — a way to provide for us, but also a way to be present and spend as much time with my son as possible.
It is when he turned one, I decided to make his birthday cake myself.
Something special to celebrate his very first birthday.
The funny thing is… I didn’t even like baking. Cooking was always my thing. I have spent 20 years of my life in the kitchen.
But that cake changed everything.
I discovered something creative, colourful, almost meditative. At the same time it challenged me in ways I had never experienced before, because I had to learn everything from scratch.
So I taught myself. You have no idea how many cakes I had to bin or give away to my neighbours..
Books, videos, trial and error… over and over again.
For years it wasn’t easy.
I baked for hours with my baby strapped to me in a baby carrier.
Three years later, my daughter arrived, and I had to juggle with another baby strapped to my back and a toddler... imagine the challenge!
I delivered cakes by bike with them in the trailer behind me. Working at night when they sleep between breastfeeding sessions and nightmares to sooth. I slept 3h a day for over a year. No maternity leave for self employed, no family around to help. I never gave up. Even if someday I just ended up crying on the kitchen floor.
Today I know one thing for sure:
my children are the reason I found my path.
Everything I do, I do for them.
So I can be present. So I can watch them grow. So I can enjoy these years that will never come back.
I wouldn’t change this journey for anything.

I know my story isn't special, so many of us mums are in this situation. And not even recognised because "You work from home" you know what? WE ARE F** INCREDIBLE
