A huge thank you to Beauty Banks for their donation of toiletries to our Glasgow Hub 💙

Beauty Banks works to tackle hygiene poverty by providing essential hygiene products to charities and community organisations supporting people who need them most and we’re incredibly grateful to be one of them.

These donations will go directly to the young people we support providing everyday essentials. Small things like shampoo, deodorant and toothpaste can have a huge impact on confidence and will make a real difference to the young people who come through our services.

Too many LGBTQ+ young people in Scotland experience homelessness because they don’t feel safe or supported at home.

We partnered with LGBT Youth Scotland to create a peer-led report on housing rights and homelessness, shaped directly by young people with lived experience.

🏳️‍🌈 During Pride Month, it’s important to reflect on the realities many LGBTQ+ young people still face and the changes still needed.

The findings highlight the need for earlier support, inclusive services, and a housing system where every young person feels safe. To read the full report head to rocktrust.org

A huge milestone with five new homes for young people. 🏡

We’re expanding our Bedrock supported accommodation programme through the purchase of five new one-bedroom flats across Edinburgh, helping provide safe, stable homes for young people affected by homelessness.

With Edinburgh facing an ongoing housing emergency, these homes will give more young people the support and independence they need to build their future.

This is an important step forward in our mission to end youth homelessness. To read more about our Bedrock service please visit - https://www.rocktrust.org/bedrock-expansion-edinburgh/

They did it!

Our 25 amazing runners took part in a very hot Edinburgh Marathon Festival weekend, collectively raising over £9,000 (with donations still coming in), for young people impacted by homelessness.

We had marathon first-timers, PB chasers, corporate partner relay teams and even our very own staff teams, all pushing themselves to their limits (really it was that hot!) on behalf of young people in Scotland. Really it was very inspiring to cheer them on!

Thank you also to every individual who supported them with sponsorship. Every donation will help young people affected by homelessness access the housing, support and opportunities they need to thrive.

If you’ve caught the bug, EMF 2027 places are now open, and you’re all invited to join our team - https://www.rocktrust.org/event/edinburgh-marathon-festival/

We’ll be cheering you all on from Joppa bandstand. Go smash it this weekend! 💙

The Welcoming Edinburgh is a Scottish charity that supports asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in Edinburgh, and we’re really excited to be working together on this new group.

These sessions are all about creating a welcoming space where young people can meet others find out about local opportunities and connect with support in the community.

If you’d like to come along to future sessions, get in touch with our Hub team at [email protected]

🤝 Rock Trust x Fresh Start

For the past year, young people from our Youth Hub have been volunteering with Fresh Start, helping to put together starter packs for people moving on from homelessness into permanent accommodation.

It’s been a great opportunity to build confidence, learn new skills, meet new people and give back to the community. Young people can also work towards gaining a Saltire Awards certificate, which is a great addition to a CV or future applications.

We’re proud to see the positive impact they continue to make and see what a brilliant collaboration it is.
