Yesterday, our Chief Executive, Tim Hyams, had the honour of serving as Reviewing Officer at the 21 Royal Gun Salute, marking the 4th anniversary of His Majesty The King's accession to the throne.
ABF Chair of Trustees, Sarah Booth and members of the ABF Scotland team were proud to attend the 21 Gun Salute alongside invited guests and representatives from fellow military charities, joining in this special occasion of national and military significance.
Reflecting on the event, Major General (Ret’d) Tim Hyams said:
"It is an honour to be the Reviewing Officer at this Royal Gun Salute, marking His Majesty The King's Accession to the throne. His Majesty, and Her Majesty The Queen, who is Patron of the Army Benevolent Fund, demonstrate the most evident care and attention for the Army and its people.
In that context, it is a privilege to be representing the Army Benevolent Fund as today's Reviewing Officer. As the Army's national charity, we provide a lifetime of support to soldiers, veterans, and their families when they fall into need, such that they can live with independence and dignity."
