Q: My tenant has asked to run a child-minding business from the property. What should I consider?

A: Before agreeing, landlords should check:
• Mortgage and insurance conditions
• Property title deeds/restrictions
• Whether appropriate permissions and insurance are in place

Remember, you are under no obligation to consent.

If permission is granted, it’s best to set this out clearly in writing, including any conditions attached to the agreement.
