Most wildfires are human caused, which means they are also preventable.
That’s why we’ve enhanced this image to show the potential devastation wildfire can cause.
By following a few simple guidelines, we can protect the places we love and keep ourselves safe.
Make sure your campfire or outdoor is fully extinguished and always dispose of ci******es properly.
Remember, there’s no such thing as a harmless fire.

Air temp isn’t water temp. Stay safe.
Entering cold water makes you GASP.
Cold water increases your breathing and heart rate, causing PANIC.
Your muscles will get too cold, making you uncoordinated and WEAK.
RLSS UK’s advice is:
• Choose lifeguarded spots
• Never swim alone
• If unable to swim don't attempt to jump in
• Wear bright colours
• Enter the water slowly
• Get out before you get cold
If you get into trouble, Find Your Float on your back.
It may feel warm outside, but the water isn’t.
Share this vital water safety advice to help keep others safe.

[25 May - 7.47pm] We are currently in attendance at an incident on Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh.
Operations Control has mobilised three appliances to the scene. People are being asked to avoid the area as crews work to extinguish a large grass fire.
There is no further need to alert our Operations Control to this incident as we have already received a large volume of calls.

🚒 This week we were delighted to work from Sighthill Fire Station alongside pupils from Currie Community High School.
Our Community Action Team delivered the SFRS Fire Skills Program with some young students in S2.
They learnt a variety of new skills including teamwork, communication and leadership.
They also learnt some valuable lifeskills in CPR ⛑️ and water safety.
The group were fantastic and today showcased to parents how they have progressed throughout the week.
A huge thanks to those at the SFRS for their input and Currie Community High School for allowing them time out of school.
Also a big thanks to our partners from Pentland Hills Regional Park and Women's Aid for your contribution 🫶.
