Richmond’s Hope is a charity that supports bereaved children and young people age 4 to 18 years old

Richmond’s Hope was founded in April 2003 in Niddrie, Edinburgh, in response to a need within the local community. People from the church and the café project became aware of behavioural problems amongst local children who had been bereaved. In 2001 there were fifteen deaths of young people in the area which directly affected the lives of thirty nine children (either the children of the deceased o

Sam, our Bereavement Service Coordinator, had an inspiring day at the : Su***de Prevention Scotland Conference, joining people from many different sectors who all share the same commitment to su***de prevention.

At Richmond’s Hope, we support many young people who have been bereaved by su***de, and they are statistically more likely to experience suicidal thoughts themselves. This makes it even more important that we continue learning, improving, and embedding trauma‑informed practice into everything we do.

A lovely highlight was creating Hope Boxes with PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Su***de - a meaningful reminder of the power of connection and support.

We are excited to bring this learning back to Richmond’s Hope and continue championing opportunities for the young people we support.

Check out our skydive hoodies!!!

Tom and I are taking on a skydive this weekend in aid of Richmond's Hope — an incredible charity that supports children and young people through bereavement and grief. It's work that genuinely matters, and we're so proud to be raising money for them.

We've just received our custom Acts of Dove hoodies for the event, and we are READY (nervous, but ready 🙈).

We couldn't have got this far without some incredibly generous sponsors who have covered our registration fee in full — meaning every single penny donated goes straight to Richmond's Hope. A huge, heartfelt thank you to:

💛 Kathleen McKenna from Cherished Reflections
💛 The family of Ella Steedman, Aimee Banks XChelle XBanks Janice Banks James Banks Stevie Banks - McGregor The White House Bar Holytown
💛 Friends and family of Rhylie Carey, Finlay

Your support means more than we can say.

We have a target of £1,000 — ambitious, we know — but if everyone who sees this could spare even £1, we really can get there together. These young people deserve every bit of support they can get.

The jump is this Saturday 30th May. If you'd like to donate, the link is below. 🕊️
