For the next 2 weeks Flt Lt Noble is in Sweden participating in IACE 2024 as Escorting CFAV.
This is an international exchange programme to promote and develop international relations among the aviation community, as well as promote an exchange of cultural understanding. Only the top 1% of cadets obtain a place on the IACE programme so it really is one of the pinnacle moments of a cadets career.

CAN YOU HELP US!
We are trying to enhance our experience by offering additional sports sessions for our cadets, improving our health and fitness while also socialising as a squadron!
We are in need of some sports equipment to support this.
Primarily looking for items such as yoga mats, kettle bells, balls, skipping ropes and other general circuits or team sports/athletics type equipment.
If you have a contact who can help us or know of a local community grant who may support us in purchasing these items, please DM us and let us know, we'd be very appreciative of any help available.

A night of imagination last night!
We asked our cadets to take their learning and develop their own Air Base. What they came up with was very detailed!
I particularly like that the tower glows in the dark and has a face to warn off intruders!

LAST CALL!
We are planning a Eurovision Party on Saturday 11th June to cover the grand final of the competition and enjoy some socialising and entertainment within the squadron. Prizes for most creative dress/attire!
Tickets are £5, pre-payable. The link will be issued once you email [email protected] to notify of your wish to attend.
We are at risk of having to cancel the event due to uptake. If you wish to attend please email the OC by no later than 18:00 on Wednesday 8th May.
Thank you.
You may recognise a few people in this video!
We were asked to provide an insight into a typical squadron parade and explain why we think people should volunteer their time as a Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer.
It's open to everyone and makes a huge difference to the young people in our organisation.

Congratulations to Cpl Robertson for taking part in yesterday's South East Scotland Wing Inter Squadron Athletics Competition.
We may not have won any medals but there is always next time.
Pictured here with our colleagues from 439 Linlithgow Squadron RAF Air Cadets who had a great day. Well done all 👏

287 NEED YOU!
As many of our community will know, we sadly lost one of our cadets in 2023 who tragically passed away at the young age of 14.
This year, to mark that one year anniversary within the squadron, we held a memory evening where his friends were able to talk about him and remember who he was.
As a squadron, we decided it was only right to remember the person he was. So, we want to use 2024 to make a positive change and raise money in his memory.
To kick start the campaign, the OC will be completing a sponsored walk on the 31st August. The walk will go from Stenhouse to Linlithgow along the union canal. Our cadet loved walking in the outdoors and Linlithgow was the location of the last squadron event he participated in.
The money raised will be split between 2 areas, 50% will go to 287 squadron to fund a trophy in his memory, along with some STEM resources to support our cadet experience.
The other 50% will be donated to EDT, an engineering development Trust who aim to inspire young people to take up a career in engineering. The charity are a national youth development trust who also partner with the cadet forces to offer the Industrial Cadet Scheme. Our cadet's ambition was to go on to study engineering and so we believe this would be a fitting way in which to honour his memory.
If you can, we would really appreciate if you could sponsor the OC in this challenge and help us raise money for some good causes. Please feel free to copy and share the link!

An excellent day supporting our local community at Saughtonhall United Reformed Church.
The sun was out, we put some tunes on and we had a great time helping tidy their garden for the summer.
We then decided our own compound could do with some TLC and did a bit of work on that too.
Great use of some Scottish sunshine!

Congratulations to Cpl Martin. A solid second place in his age group on the Wing Cross Country course this morning.
Well done and we wish you well for next week's Regional competition.

We typically spend a lot of time congratulating our cadets, but this week we want to celebrate our staff.
Staff promotions don't come around very often, but this week we had 2.
Congratulations to Fg Off McGowan and Flt Lt Noble on their respective promotions. The result of a lot of hard work for both. 👏
