Cohort three of our Improving Access to Planned Care programme is now live and accepting applications.
Developed by our Shifting the Balance of Care portfolio, the programme will support NHS boards across Scotland to reduce waiting times. The programme will use an improvement sprint approach over a 20-week period to rapidly assess, identify and implement changes to tackle the current issues that have led to waiting times of 40 weeks or more.
The programme is open to all planned care services, excluding ophthalmology, orthopaedics and mental health services.
Senior Improvement Advisor Leanne Marshall-Wood said: “We are keen to raise awareness of the programme across the services and would ask that anyone who has connections with planned care services to share the details through their networks”.
Applications will close at 8pm on Tuesday 30 June.
For further details or to register your interest in the programme, please email [email protected]

The standards aim to promote consistency and improve the quality of maternity services across the country. They set out a blueprint for what good maternity care looks like and detail the levels of high-quality care and support that all women should expect to receive before, during and after birth.
