McDonald Road Library

It's spooky season at McDonald Road and we're leaning into it fully with the mother of science fiction, Mary Shelley. Read the book and then do some research on why it was written, and the way it changed genre fiction forever!

To be read with a large mug of tea, in a warm place, as far away from the north pole as you can possibly get.

Hello everyone, hope you are all well!

"Menopause is not the end of youth, its the beginning of self acceptance and wisdom!" So true!

Here at MC we have a display that not only has books, but also information and support. Did you know there is a menopause clinic in Edinburgh? Completely free, you just need a doctor to refer you.

In addition on Monday 12th October at 6pm Dr Laura Wyness will be sharing advice for perimenopause and menopause, with a Q & A session too, here at McDonald road library.

This is a free event, follow the link below in the comments for tickets!

October is the month for spooky sleepovers and things that lurk in the dark! Young Gothic by M. A. Bennett fits that bill perfectly, it's dark and haunting and comes from the true story of the ghost story competition that birthed Frankenstein.

Read it or recommend it and let us know how it goes!
