We offer both pre-sessional English and bespoke short courses at Edinburgh Napier University.

Pre-sessional English courses:
Our Pre-Sessional courses are designed for students who would
like to join degree programmes at Edinburgh Napier University. Whether you need to increase your English Language scores for entry, or you have reached the required English level but would like to learn more about studying in a UK university before starting your degree, we have a course suitable for you.

Last Thursday, we took our visiting students from Tokyo Kasei University to visit Currie Primary School and Colinton Primary School as part of their bespoke cultural-exchange summer course. The Japanese students shared crafts and culture with nursery and primary pupils—teaching them how to make flying dragonflies (taketonbo) from recycled cartons and samurai helmets from newspaper—while also giving talks on Japanese food, technology, innovation, and recycling. In return, they learned about Scotland’s child-centred, flexible approach to education and the strong role of community in schools. Many of these students are preparing to become early childhood educators. This experience gave them a new perspective on how learning environments can encourage creativity and unlock potential beyond academic performance. For us, this is the true value of cultural exchange: creating meaningful learning opportunities for everyone involved.
