Boat Safety Scheme

Lithium-ion batteries power many of our everyday items – including our phones, tablets, laptops, toothbrushes, rechargeable DIY tools, and e-bikes. To make sure our safety guidance is as effective as possible, we are looking to find out more from boaters all over the UK about what lithium-powered items they own and how they use them on board.

Whether you occasionally hire a day boat, use your own craft at weekends or live permanently aboard, we would love to get your feedback via our independent, anonymous survey. Participants will also have the opportunity to be entered into a free prize draw for the chance to win one of 10 £50 shopping vouchers.

You can find the survey here: https://survey.alchemer.eu/s3/91115539/BSS-Lithium-ion or via the QR code pictured.

Here's a great cue for boaters to check the gas hose connections on their boats. If you see this, its time for a new hose, before you have serious situation.

What's a good way to enjoy this beautiful weather?

BBQ anyone?

As much as we like a BBQ, we are certain you don't really want us turning up! Last week saw a few calls attended due to faulty gas BBQ's, if you have one, make sure you check it over before you use it.

This is an example of a hose that was leaking gas due to age and deterioration. Make sure yours is safe to use.
