Exeter Historic Guildhall The most historic municiple buildings in the UK. Avaliable for Tours, Weddings and Conferences. The Guildhall is also available for private booking and tours.

The Guildhall has served as the center piece of Exeter's civic life for more than 800 years and has now opened its large oak doors for Weddings and Civil Partnerships. One of the oldest buildings in Exeter, the Guildhall is not only a structure of outstanding architectural interest, but remains a busy working building, still used regularly for a variety of civic functions

Many of the dramatic events of Exeter 's history were played out here. Since the Middle Ages Kings have been received and entertained here. In the 15th Century men and women were confined overnight in the hall before facing ex*****on the next day on a scaffold outside. Here the Tudor Chamber met to take action against rebellious armies outside the city walls, and determined the city's course as it rose to commercial prosperity; men and women had been sentenced to the gallows or deported from here; Lord Mayors have been elected; Members of Parliament have been chosen; Honorary Aldermen were appointed… now you too can make history.

The historic Guildhall remains a working building and is in frequent use for Mayoral functions, Council Meetings, Private hire, Weddings, etc. Therefore, access to visitors cannot always be guaranteed. However, the list below details the times when it is expected that the Guildhall will be open to the public over the next few days.

We’re looking forward to hosting this month’s charity coffee morning.
Tomorrow 10-12!

Don’t forget that we’ll be hosting this months Lord Mayor’s Coffee Morning this Saturday at the Guildhall.

We will have our lovely tote bags and other creative gifts available to buy.

We will of course have tea and coffee, as well as cakes and pastries for you to enjoy also.

If you haven’t been along to one of these yet, come and say hello.

Children are of course welcome and the cakes are always delicious!
