Join Cornish author James Henry for an evening exploring his debut novel, Pagans - an instant Times bestseller that has already been optioned for television.

James will be in conversation with Frank Pellow from Source FM, discussing the inspiration behind Pagans, the world of the novel, and the fascinating possibilities of alternate history. James will also read an extract from the book, offering a glimpse into the story and the ideas behind it.

The conversation will also explore the long tradition of alternate history in fiction – from imagining a world where the Allies lost the Second World War to stories exploring what might have happened if a plague had wiped out Western Europe during the Dark Ages.

Come along to discover more about James’s work, the thinking behind Pagans, and the endlessly intriguing question: what if history had happened differently?

Free to attend but please book direct with the library:

Thinking about writing a book? Or simply curious about how writers get their stories out into the world?

Join us at Falmouth Library for an evening of conversation about inspiration, writing and routes to publication.

Our panel brings together four very different perspectives from the world of books:

They'll be talking about where ideas come from, the journey from writing to publication, and the different routes available to authors – including self-publishing.

Whether you're working on your first novel, already have a book under your belt, or just love reading, come along and join the conversation.
