Today we’re celebrating an incredible 111 years of the Women’s Institute — 111 years of friendship, fellowship, campaigning, learning, laughter and making a difference.

As members of the largest women’s organisation in the UK, we’re proud to be part of a movement with such an amazing history and such an exciting future.

From our very own Bowes Belles WI, we’d like to wish all our wonderful members, friends and followers a very Happy WI Day! 🌸

Here’s to the women who came before us, the women standing alongside us today, and all those who will carry the WI forward into the future.

🎭✨ What a fantastic visit! ✨🎭

Members enjoyed a truly exceptional and interactive tour of the Tyne Theatre and Opera House today. We were given a fascinating insight into the theatre’s rich history, hidden gems and behind-the-scenes workings.

A wonderful experience enjoyed by everyone, and certainly a visit to remember.

A huge thank you to the team at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House for making our tour so engaging and memorable. 👏🎭

A lovely 5-mile walk around Cleadon Hills with Boots Belles today. Around 14,000–15,000 steps, depending on your fitness tracker… and, of course, the length of your legs! 🥾

Plenty of fresh air, beautiful views and lots of chatter along the way.

And the perfect way to finish… a well-earned cuppa at Souter Lighthouse! ☕️🌊

Another hilarious look at the joys (and dramas!) of growing older with the fabulous Marie Thom — aka Midlife Dramas in Pyjamas — and her brilliant new talk, “I. Am. A. Woman.” Safe to say, it resonated with most of us at Bowes Belles! 🙋‍♀️💪🏼

The evening was filled laughter, knowing nods and “that’s definitely me!” moments.

A thoroughly entertaining evening — thanks, Marie! 💚

🎭 Yvonne & Marie will be at the Little Theatre on Saturday 19th September with their special brand of midlife mayhem.
