Pakistan Consulate Glasgow was honoured to host Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib, former public servant, philanthropist and founder of Akhuwat, as part of his UK tour for the launch of his book, Muloo Musalli: In Search of Lost Humanity.

The book brings together stories and reflections on humanity, dignity, compassion, faith and Mawakhat, giving voice to people whose struggles and resilience often remain unseen.

Through stories of widows, orphans, labourers, transgender people and others living at the margins of society, Dr. Saqib invites readers to reflect on compassion, human dignity and our shared responsibility towards one another.

The engagement provided an opportunity for members of the community to hear from Dr. Saqib about the inspiration behind the book and his lifelong commitment to service and humanity.

Consul General Summar Javed thanked Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib for sharing his reflections and for inspiring a meaningful conversation on the values that connect us all.

🇵🇰 Salam Pakistan | PakistanAt80 🇵🇰

As part of the ongoing Independence Day celebrations, Pakistan Consulate Glasgow co-sponsored the vibrant “Salam Pakistan” Cultural Musical Programme, an evening celebrating Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, music and diversity.

The event brought together members of the Pakistani community with thrilling performances by Ustad Rafaqat Ali Khan, Shafaq Ali, Rafay Israar and Bakht Ali Khan, showcasing the many traditions that form Pakistan’s unique cultural tapestry from folk melodies and Sufi poetry to classical and contemporary music.

The occasion also provided an opportunity to reflect on the spirit of Defence Day, commemorated on 6 September, and to pay tribute to the courage, dedication and sacrifices of those who have served and defended Pakistan.

The year 2026 carries special significance as the “Year of Quaid-e-Azam”, marking the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. It is an occasion to reflect on his enduring vision of unity, dignity, tolerance and service.

The Consulate extends its appreciation to the organisers, musicians and performers whose remarkable talent continues to preserve Pakistan’s cultural traditions, inspire younger generations and strengthen the bonds between the Pakistani diaspora and their heritage.
