602 Sqn Reserves

Battle of Britain day 15 Sep 2026:

Sqn personnel were honoured to commemorate the 86th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain on Sun 13 Sep. Battle of Britain Sunday commemorates a dramatic turning point in both the Battle itself, and the history of the Second World War.

Sqn personnel attended Services at Westminster Abbey in London and our own Glasgow Cathedral. Our original Standard, which was laid to rest in March 1957, hangs in Glasgow Cathedral to this day.

Remembering the Few and the many who supported them.

602 (City of Glasgow) Squadron was proud to support Armed Forces Day 2026 in Glasgow, joining colleagues from across the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, UAS, Cadet Forces, and our Service Veterans in celebrating the people who make up the UK Armed Forces community.

Hosted by the Deputy Lieutenant of Glasgow at the City of Glasgow Nautical College, the event gave us a fantastic opportunity to meet members of the public, share what life in the RAF Reserve is all about, and highlight the rewarding opportunities available with 602 Sqn.

Events like Armed Forces Day are a reminder of the strong connection between our Armed Forces and the communities we serve. We were honoured to be part of such a fantastic day celebrating service, teamwork, and the enduring support shown by the people of Glasgow.
