๐Ÿšช In this video, our CEO and founder, Colin McInnes, explains why keeping Homeless Project Scotlandโ€™s night shelter available matters to people who have nowhere else to sleep.

He shares his frustration with the planning barriers facing the shelter while people continue to come through our doors needing urgent help.

โš–๏ธ Colin raises a direct question: how can planning law be enforced while peopleโ€™s need for accommodation remains unresolved?

We ask GlaGlasgow City Councild the TheThe Scottish Government work with us towards a solution that protects access to shelter and helps people move into appropriate accommodation. The people relying on this service need to know where they can turn.

๐Ÿ’ฌ What should decision makers have in place for those who depend on the shelter before considering its closure? Please share your views in the comments.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ In this video, our CEO and founder, Colin McInnes, thanks Councillor Ricky Bell following a productive meeting at Glasgow City Chambers with the Homeless Project Scotland team.

Colin shares how much it meant to feel heard and to bring the voices of people experiencing homelessness directly to the leadership of Glasgow City Council

๐Ÿ”‘ During the meeting, Councillor Bell committed to asking officers to explore what properties Glasgow City Council may have available. Colin also welcomes his commitment that people should not have to sleep rough on our cityโ€™s streets.

These discussions offer encouragement, and we look forward to working together to turn that commitment into practical support for people who need somewhere to stay.

Thank you, Councillor Bell, for listening to our team and the people we represent. ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒƒ At 2:10 this morning, Colin, our CEO, shares welcome news: there are no sleeping pods outside our night shelter.

The shelter is full, with every bed taken, but at the time of filming nobody is sleeping outside our doors. It is a positive moment that we are pleased to share.

We thank Councillor Ricky Bell, Councillor Allan Casey and everyone at Glasgow City Council helping our guests access accommodation. Each placement helps make room for someone else who needs our shelter. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

With no beds remaining, we remain concerned about anyone who may arrive before morning. We hope this progress continues, with accommodation available whenever someone needs help.

Thank you to everyone working towards more nights without pods on the pavement. ๐Ÿ’™

What would consistent nights like this mean for Glasgow? Share your hopes for lasting progress in the comments.

๐Ÿ’™ A POSITIVE STEP FORWARD FOR HOMELESSNESS IN GLASGOW!

A sincere thank you to Councillor Ricky Bell, Leader of Glasgow City Council for taking the time to meet with us and listen to our concerns.

We came away feeling much more positive and encouraged by his apparent commitment to working with Homeless Project Scotland to tackle homelessness across our city.

We want to work together, find solutions and make a real difference to peopleโ€™s lives.

We are hopeful this marks the beginning of positive change for Glasgowโ€™s homeless community.

Thank you, Councilor Bell for listening. Actions will now speak louder than words.

We will keep everyone updated as discussions progress. ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŽ’ In this video, Colin shares how Homeless Project Scotland began in 2019 with a backpack, a flask of soup, some sandwiches and a simple decision to help.

He recalls heading onto Glasgowโ€™s streets with his sister and a friend. As they were leaving, one man tapped his shoulder and asked: โ€œWould you be back?โ€ That question stayed with him, and they returned.

๐Ÿฅฃ When COVID arrived, the need for support continued. Colin describes how that small beginning grew into an operation delivering more than a million hot meals across the country within 12 months.

With donations and community support, an unexpected journey became the charity we know today.

To everyone who has helped along the way, thank you. Your generosity has made you part of this story. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Chris shares a welcome update from Glassford Street everyone who needed our support tonight has a bed indoors, with nobody left sleeping outside.

He also thanks Councilor Ricky Bell and Glasgow City Council for the improvements our team has noticed recently, including quicker responses to calls and more people accessing emergency accommodation.

๐Ÿ“ž These changes make a difference to our volunteers and, most importantly, to people seeking help with nowhere to stay. We appreciate the work behind the scenes that is helping people get indoors.

There is still progress to make, and we hope this cooperation continues so that nights like this become something everyone can depend on. From all of us at Homeless Project Scotland, thank you. ๐Ÿ’™

What does this positive update mean to you? We would love to hear your reflections in the comments.
