🏆❤️ WE ONLY WENT AND DONE IT! ❤️🏆
Tonight, SISCO won an award at the Scottish Recovery Awards! And what a night it was! 🙌
The first of its kind, bringing people from across Scotland's recovery communities together for one very special evening.
In a country that continues to face the heartbreaking reality of some of the highest drug-related death rates, tonight was a reminder that recovery is real, recovery is possible, and recovery deserves to be celebrated.
Tonight was about recognising the people who make a difference every single day. From frontline staff and volunteers to chief executives, and most importantly, the people who access the very services we fight so hard to protect and keep funded.
And tonight, SISCO deserved that award.❤️
For the past 11 years, our team has poured its heart and soul into restorative justice, believing in second chances, breaking down barriers, challenging stigma and fighting for HOPE BEYOND THE WALLS.
We don't do what we do for praise, recognition or awards. We do it because we believe in people. We believe nobody should be defined by their past, and we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to rebuild their life.
But tonight? Tonight it felt bloody good to have that work recognised! 🏆
This award belongs to every single person who has been part of the SISCO journey. Every team member, every person who has stood beside us, and every individual who has found the courage to take that first step towards change.
A very special thank you to the Corra Foundation and the Bromley Trust.
Without your belief in us, your continued support and, most importantly, your funding, we simply wouldn't be in a position to do the work we do, never mind stand on a stage receiving an award for it.
Funding isn't just about keeping services running. It's about keeping hope alive, opening doors, creating opportunities and giving people a genuine chance to change their lives.
You have believed in our vision and helped us turn that vision into action. This award belongs to you too. ❤️
And a particularly special moment for me personally was having Karyn McCluskey present us with the award.
Of all the people who could have handed us that award, how wonderful that it was one of my favourite people in the world!
Someone I have so much admiration and respect for, and someone who understands the importance of believing in people, challenging the status quo and never giving up on those who need us most.
That made an already special moment even more meaningful. Thank you, Karyn. ❤️
A massive thank you to Paul Bowley, the entire team at Abbeycare, and everyone working tirelessly behind the scenes at the Scottish Recovery Awards.
I personally know how much hard work goes into organising events like this, and you absolutely smashed it!
From the food and beautiful table settings to the warm welcomes, friendly faces and atmosphere in the room, everything was first class.
And of course, for me and the team, nothing topped walking away with that award!
We walked into that room with our heads held high, but we walked out with our shoulders even higher. ❤️🏆
A huge congratulations to everyone who was nominated, everyone who made it to the finals, and every single winner tonight.
Because ultimately, in recovery, we are all winners every single day.
Every life changed matters. Every barrier broken matters. Every second chance matters. And every person who refuses to give up matters.
Tonight was more than an awards ceremony. It was a celebration of hope, resilience, community and everything we continue to fight for.
11 years of passion, purpose and never giving up on people. And we're not finished yet!
Thank you again for a truly fantastic night. One that the SISCO team will remember for a very long time.
HOPE BEYOND THE WALLS. ALWAYS. ❤️
