๐ถ RAF Halton Music Camp 2025 ๐ถ
Last month, Flying Officer Cameron Ferguson attended the North Region Music Camp at RAF Halton, representing West Scotland Wing along with a cadet. As the only member of our squadron on camp, FG Off Ferguson threw himself into a full week of demanding rehearsals, complex marching routines, and high-level musical drill.
Working with musicians from across the corps as well as the Army Engagement Ensemble and the Royal Marines Band Service he helped prepare for a very special event next year, when cadets will perform at the Birmingham Tattoo to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Air Training Corps.
The camp offered unforgettable experiences, from developing advanced musical skills to a visit to Windsor Castle to see the Changing of the Guard.
Weโd also like to offer huge congratulations to Flying Officer Ferguson on his appointment as the new Scotland & Northern Ireland Regional Music Officer a fantastic achievement and an addition to his role Wing Music Officer.
Well done to everyone involved in the camp, your talent and teamwork continue to inspire us! ๐บ๐ฅ

Blue Wings Achievement at 62 Squadron! ๐ฉ๏ธ
A massive congratulations to our cadets who have recently completed their flight simulator training and earned their Blue Wings! This achievement represents a significant amount of dedication and time. To qualify for this badge, cadets must first experience either a powered flight or a glider flight, and then successfully complete their synthetic flight training on squadron.
Their hard work, focus, and enthusiasm for aviation have truly paid off. Well done to all involved we are incredibly proud!

Remembrance Sunday 2025
Our cadets proudly took part in the Remembrance Sunday parade at Glasgow Cathedral, joining members of the Armed Forces and squadrons from across the Wing. This annual parade is an important moment for us all it is a time to honour the sacrifices of those who served, reflect on the cost of conflict, and show our gratitude to those who continue to protect our freedom.
After the service in the Cathedral, we also held a small service alongside the Army Cadets and members of 207 (City of Glasgow) Battery Royal Artillery, paying our respects together as a community outside the reserve centre.
We would also like to recognise Cadet Fleming, who represented 62 Squadron on the 11th of November by playing the bugle for the RBLS alongside the standard bearers from 122 Squadron. We are incredibly proud of his dedication and contribution.
Lest We Forget. ๐บ

๐๏ธ RBLS Banner Drill Training 2025 ๐๏ธ
Over the past few months, three of our cadets have been regularly attending the RBLS Banner Drill training sessions alongside others from WSW Wing. These training sessions have been held at Walcheren Barracks hosted by the Royal British Legion Scotland and 122 Squadron. ๐ฌ๐ง
Theyโve worked hard developing their skills, growing in confidence, and even passing on what theyโve learned to others. Itโs been a fantastic effort all round as this yearโs training comes to a close, but weโre excited for more to come in 2026! ๐
Weโre looking forward to seeing what the future holds, and hopefully seeing some of our cadets take part in next yearโs competition! ๐
A huge thank you to the RBLS and 122 Squadron for hosting and supporting these brilliant sessions. ๐ช
