Members of HMS Dalriada and other reserve units from across the UK took part in the annual Royal Naval Reserve versus British Army Reserve football match.
Taking place outside of England for the first time in its history, the match pitted players from the Army Reserve, Royal Naval Reserve and Royal Marines Reserve against each other amid pouring rain, hailstones and the occasional patch of sunshine Rangers Training Ground Ground in Milngavie.
In the end, the Army Reserve team came away with a very impressive 7-0 win, proudly accepting their trophy from Colonel Davy Jones OBE QVRM, Interim Chair of the Army Football Association.
Congratulations to the winning team, and many thanks to everyone who helped bring this event together, including the The Rangers Charity Foundation who provided the training and match day facilities for both teams.

Today HMS Dalriada were privileged to participate in a memorial service to mark 83 years since the sinking of HMS Dasher, representing the Royal Naval Reserve alongside HMS Scotia.
HMS Dasher sank with the loss of 379 of her ship's company on 27th March 1943. The service today was attended by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.
A particularly poignant moment this year came with the awarding of the Arctic Star to a number of family members of those lost on that day.

๐๐ผBZ to everyone who took part in the employer engagement event held aboard HMS Queen Elizabeth while sheโs alongside in Rosyth.
โ๏ธMembers of HMS Dalriada and HMS Scotia invited employers onto the carrier who got to experience the size and scale of HMS Queen Elizabeth while seeing what the Royal Naval Reserve do when training.
๐ฎ The event held in the carrier's hangar gave employers an opportunity to gain an insight into the training their employees undertake in the Royal Naval Reserve, from first aid to training using a virtual bridge simulating a Royal Navy vessel. Employer engagement events are vital to both recognise the support employers give their reservists, but also the skills reservists bring back to their civilian employer, from first aid to leadership skills.
โ๏ธ Both Highland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association and Lowland Reserve Forces' and Cadets' Association were in attendance, with a number of employers recognised for their support for Reservists. Forth Ports Limited signing the Armed Forces Convenant, and Gray Fabrication Ltd receiving a Bronze Employer Recognition Scheme Award.

Robert Burnsโ connection to Glasgow is often overlooked, but it was an important chapter in his life. In the winter of 1786โ87, Burns spent considerable time in the city, where his Kilmarnock Edition found enthusiastic readers among Glasgowโs merchants, academics, and students. The city offered him intellectual stimulation, lively company, and a receptive audience for his ideas on equality, learning, and human dignityโvalues that resonated strongly with Glasgowโs Enlightenment spirit.
Burns also had a notable connection to the Royal Navy, not as a sailor, but through his strong patriotic voice and support for the Royal Navy. Several of his songs and poems celebrate sailors and soldiers, and he even wrote verses intended to boost morale during times of conflict, including works that praised naval readiness. His admiration for the common fighting man reflected his lifelong respect for ordinary people doing extraordinary service.
