This latest explanation doesn't really help Michael Matheson. He first claimed the usage was "official business" while on holiday. Now, he claims it was his sons who did it. If that is true, then that raises two more issues. First, he lied about the usage in the first place. Second, why were his children permitted access to his official device, which may have contained sensitive or personal information on it.

In a personal statement to MSPs, Michael Matheson said his sons were watching football.
