We are celebrating Black History Month, the theme is, 'Honouring Our Communities', where we are invited to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of individuals whose work and lives have not always been visible.

Our library assistants Nicola and Kristen have created a book display highlighting some of these lived experiences and wider reading on Black History in the UK and beyond.

Discover, GCU Library’s online catalogue and discovery system, has moved to a new, modern interface.

✅ New layout
✅ Easier searching
✅ Improved accessibility

We've been testing the new design with students, and their feedback has helped shape the final version.

The core search and discovery features you already use will remain familiar, and we're updating our search guidance to help you get started with the new interface.

If you spot any issues or have any questions, please get in touch with the Library team.

We're celebrating World Refugee Week, and our amazing library assistants Nicola, Cameron and Ash have helped to create a wonderful display.

World Refugee Week:

"Brings together people from different backgrounds to connect beyond labels, and foster a deeper understanding of why people are displaced, and the challenges they face when seeking safety." Refugee Week 🧡

Our communities are enriched by the wide variety of people and experiences who make their home here.
Refugee Week invites us to affirm everyone's right to, "safety, dignity and opportunity."
